Stephen P. Holmes
Attorney at Law is an experienced Personal Injury Attorney
based in the Denver And Surrounding Areas. In addition to carrying degrees, he is both an author and lecturer. As co-author of The Forensic Expert's Guide to Litigation (LRP Publications, 1996), Mr. Holmes examines the role of expert witnesses in the litigation process. This book is used today as a guide in the legal profession.
Mr. Holmes has been invited to speak to both undergraduate and graduate college students regarding the practice of personal injury law. He has also been invited as a featured speaker to both professors and professionals at Metropolitan State College in Denver, Colorado, and lectured on personal injury claims.
In 1981, he graduated from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and majored in accounting. Four years later, he received his Juris Doctorate from DePaul University College of Law.
VERDICTS AND SETTLEMENTS
This landmark Colorado Supreme Court case, Johnson vs. Trujillo and McNicholas 977 P.2d, 52 (Colo. 1999), concerned the privilege and nondisclosure of medical and psychological records not concerning the areas of the body for which injury and damage are not being claimed.
In Denmark vs. the State of Colorado and Board of Directors, Aurora Higher Education Center, 954 P.2d 624 (Colo. App. 10/30/97) cert. denied 5/11/98. Mr. Holmes successfully argued against a waiver of immunity for the government in relation to a student who was injured during a physical education class on the athletic fields of a college campus.
